This is the ultimate wildlife shooter lens and it is amazing. The perspective and field of view are just great for making your subjects POP. With such a narrow field of view just one step to the left and your background changes completely, great for eliminating any distracting background elements and the shallow DOF creates amazing blurs to help isolate your subject.
The minimum focusing distance of 5.4 meters is pretty good but you will still need extension tubes when shooting small birds and although it is 600mm I still use it with a teleconverter for the majority of the time.
It is super sharp, has super fast Auto Focusing and is just a dream to work with, if only they could make it half the size and weight. Because of the size and weight I always use this on a Wimberley Head with a Wimberley Lens plate to lower the centre of gravity.
