OVERVIEW:
This workshop will be held in the beautiful surrounds of the Little Desert National Park, a 3 hour drive from Melbourne and Adelaide. This promises to be a fantastic weekend as we explore one of Australia’s unique landscape photography locations. Little Desert National Park is a desert in name only as it’s sand soils are home to over 670 plant species including some of Australia’s most beautiful orchids. These plants are in turn home to over 220 bird species and abundant reptiles and mammals.
DESCRIPTION:
The workshop is designed for anyone who wants to take their photography to the next level. If you have recently taken up photography or wish to improve your existing skills, then this workshop is perfect for you. In the field and through cleverly designed classroom discussions, we will explore a vast array of photographic techniques. The beauty of this workshop is that we have opportunities to photograph some beautiful and fascinating subjects and learn while we shoot.
For those participants who want to learn more of the technical aspects of photography, we’ll take time out during the middle of the day to teach you all the information you’ll need to have your images looking like the professionals!
At the end of each day, we’ll take advantage of the digital capture process to review your images and offer suggestions for improvement.

After dinner on the Friday we will have an informal chat to help the group get to know one another as well as work out each participants level and goals for the weekend. This helps us work out what we need to cover in the workshops and makes sure everyone's aims and questions are covered during the course. After dinner on Saturday all participant are invited to show a few images from the days shoots to be critiqued.
This workshop is ideal for anyone who wants to learn more about nature photography, composition and lighting in an outdoor setting in a unique Australian environment.
SUITABLE FOR:
Beginner to Advanced PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
Level 2 – Moderate. Some moderate walking will be involved but we do not venture too far from the cars. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
• Photographing wildflowers in their natural setting.
• Learning the technical aspects of photography which will help you to have a greater understanding of photography and you camera.
• Personal critiques of your work to allow you to improve your photography each day.

All accommodation is included in the workshop fee on a twin share basis. Meals from Friday’s dinner to Sunday lunch are also included. PRICE:
$429 includes tuition, handouts and accommodation (twin share). Non-participant partner price available on request. Limited to 12 participants.
WHAT TO BRING:
You will need to bring you camera and tripod, of course, as well as your camera manual. That is the only real essential. A wide angle and a telephoto lens will be useful as will a macro lens or dioptre. It will be cold in the mornings and evenings so bring a warm jumper and a hat and sunscreen for the daytime. There is a theory component so bring your laptop or a notebook and pen. Most importantly bring your enthusiasm and be prepared to join us on this exhausting and exhilarating trip to expand your photographic horizons.
We will be based at the Little Desert Nature Lodge 16km south of Nhill, meeting at around 5pm on the Friday evening. Hope to see you there.
